The Backcountry Bash

Get hyped for the Scottish winter season at the Backcountry Bash — a night celebrating Scotland’s Winter Sports community.

Expect an evening packed with home-grown film premieres, inspiring talks, exhibitors, a mega-raffle and plenty of opportunities to catch up with the community. The bar will be provided in partnership with Edinburgh-based Campervan Brewery.

The evening will run in two halves. First, explore the exhibition floor, meet some of the standout brands and personalities from the Scottish Winter Sports community, browse the latest gear, ask questions and catch up with old friends and new faces.

Then it’s time for the main event: settle in for a selection of new Scottish films, talks, the raffle and more, showcasing the people, places and stories that make the local scene what it is.

This year, the Backcountry Bash moves to Central Hall in Tollcross, with capacity for around 700 people — meaning there’s plenty more room for everyone who missed out last year.

Whether you’re a seasoned backcountry skier, just getting started, or simply love spending time in the mountains, everyone is welcome. If you’re new to the backcountry, there’s no better reason to come along.

This is where the winter hype starts and plans for the season ahead begin to take shape.
