Glenshee Ski Centre
Welcome to Glenshee – summer and winter in the mountains never looked so good.
A winter wonderland – Between December and April, Glenshee transforms to Scotland’s largest ski area, offering over 40km of pisted slopes. It’s 3 Chairlifts and 22 tows spread over three valleys providing Snowsports enthusiast with easy access to green, blue and red and black runs along with some great freeride and off-piste terrain. With such a variety of slopes to choose from, there is sure to be something to inspire your skiing or boarding and if you’re just starting out our hire team will be able to fit you out with boots, skis or boards. Lessons through our 2 schools are on our easy access beginner’s area, a short walk from the main buildings and within easy reach of two of our three cafes when your legs are needing a Hot Chocolate or something stronger to recharge your batteries!
Summer at the Shee - Our summer months of May – October, will see our Base Café, tea@theshee open daily and weather permitting we operate the Cairnwell Chairlift between 9.30am and 4.30pm. It’s a short seven-minute journey to the top of the Cairnwell where you will be given uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains and glens which make up the southern part of the Cairngorms National Park. The area is home to mountain hares, ptarmigan, red deer and eagles there is a host of wildlife to be seen on the hills around the ski centre, and with plenty of parking on our doorstep we have room for groups of all sizes whether you are stopping for an hour or two or the day.
If your party is looking to start its journey into Munro Bagging, Glenshee ski centre is home to nine Munros, three of which are within easy distance of the ski centre and are some of the best beginner ascents to start you off. With the additional help of our summer chairlift, it makes accessing the views from the top so much easier for visitors of any age or ability. If you feel like a little exercise the return walking journey back to the Café will take a little over 40 minutes on well-marked vehicle tracks, where our on-site catering team will be able to provide you with home bakes, light snacks or cooked meals.
