K2 Launch Sean Pettit K2000 Skis, Board, Boots and Bindings

Enter K2000 Curated by Sean Pettit and built for what’s next.

By Evan LeFebvre

K2000 isn’t a collection. It’s a concept. And it’s not trying to blend anything. It’s not about pushing boundaries—it’s about redefining them. K2000 doesn’t claim skiing and snowboarding are the same. It doesn’t smooth edges or erase lines. It’s about what happens when you drop tribal thinking and let each discipline operate on its own terms, free from assumptions, habits, and outdated expectations.

Curated by professional skier and passionate snowboarder Sean Pettit and brought to life with the K2 team, K2000 is a cross-disciplinary capsule rooted in shared spirit—not shared silhouettes. These aren’t hybrid pieces, and they aren’t watered down to meet in the middle. They’re high-performance tools built from the ground up to celebrate what makes skiing and snowboarding different—and better—while looking at the whole mountain as one playground.

Sean lays it out,

“If I’m riding with certain people or in a certain way, that might be a ski day—or it might be a snowboard day. It just depends on the day,” Sean says. “It’s 99% the same thing when you’re looking down at it. But then there are these minute differences, and those influence how you approach what you’re doing.”

The Future Is Unified

No more picking sides—just choosing tools. The vision driving K2000 looks at the mountain, considers the context, and builds from there. It’s a full-system collection for both skiers and snowboarders, designed through a single lens: unified design language, shared materials, connected philosophies. One collection rooted in authentic experience that speaks fluently across days and disciplines—without flattening what makes each sport special. Sean explains, “It’s very tool-based—you pick the tool you need. It’s not a marketing campaign. It’s an honest, utility-based approach.”

K2000 Product Lineup

AT99S Ski

The AT99S is Sean Pettit’s signature ski and the backbone of his high-speed, high-line approach to the mountain. Shaped from the Mindbender 99Ti footprint, this directional freeride ski blends the proven performance of a versatile platform with a few subtle refinements tailored to Sean’s style. A sintered 4000 base delivers lightning-fast glide in a range of snow conditions, while the aspen wood core brings a blend of power and pop that can hold speed through chunder and still feel nimble in technical zones. A tip-to-tail bi-axial carbon weave and titanal Y-beam construction team up to prioritize power transfer and edge response—translating to better control, faster transitions, and a ski that wants to stay on edge through the entire arc. This is a resort crusher and line slayer built for advanced skiers who move fast and ride with intent.

AT130 Ski Boot

The AT130 Ski Boot is all about fit, function, and freedom. Based on the Mindbender silhouette Sean swears by, this boot integrates BOA® dial systems on both the internal liner and lower shell to create a precise, customizable fit that holds firm on the descent and stays comfortable all day. A Powerlite shell with FastFit instep design makes it easier to get in and out—no wrestling in the parking lot—and the Powerfit Pro Tour liner brings a high-end combo of heat-moldable comfort and locked-in confidence. Built-in tech inserts and a walk mode add utility for bootpacks and sidecountry missions, while GripWalk 5355 outsoles bring dependable traction whether you’re scrambling through ice, rock, or lodge tile.

ATSB Snowboard

The ATSB Snowboard was built for everything and anything—resort days, pillow stacks, park laps, and every bump or berm in between. Inspired by the Manifest shape from the Landscape Collection, the ATSB takes that perimeter profile and dials up the response with a full-length Carbon Backbone™. That backbone works in concert with ICG™ 20 Triax Carbon Glass and Carbon Darkweb™ overlays to provide extra torsional support, smoother energy transfer, and added snap—making it just as fun popping side hits as it is carving through variable snow. At its core is K2’s sustainable A1 construction: a stable, lightweight design with a flex pattern that’s both powerful and playful. Finished with a fast Sintered 4000 base and Hybritech™ construction for durability, this board is tuned for riders who want freestyle function and freeride range in one tool. K2 Pro Snowboard Team rider, K2000 collaborator, and longtime friend of Sean, Jake Kuzyk chimes in,

“The board itself—I’ve been riding it, and I love it. It looks good and rides great. I ride the Manifest a lot and love that snowboard too, but I definitely f*** with the K2000 board. There’s a sharpness to the look; it feels like a tool—powerful and purposeful—but there’s still expression in the graphic. It’s not sterile.”

AT92 Snowboard Boot

The AT92 Snowboard Boot is Sean’s answer to what a snowboard boot should feel like: durable, refined, and ready. Underfoot, a Vibram® Mountaineer outsole delivers premium grip on slippery surfaces and pairs seamlessly with the ATSB binding for a clean, intentional interface. The Intuition® Pro Foam liner molds to your foot for a custom fit, while the SpaceHeater™ underfoot tech keeps things warm when the mercury drops. K2’s Conda™ heel retention system works with the dual-zone BOA® TX3 system to fine- tune the hold exactly where you want it—giving you better ankle support, easier control, fewer pressure points, and an easy out. Reinforced rubber in high-wear zones and a front-zip lace cover add protection from impact, abrasion, and the elements.

ATSB Binding

The ATSB Binding brings together all of Sean’s favorite elements from K2’s binding collection and refines them into a clean, responsive package. The Module chassis is injection-molded with 50% fiberglass to balance precise energy transfer with smooth lateral flex. The FR1 highback is crafted from castor-bean- based polymer and 30% fiberglass—pursuing sustainability without compromising performance. Both the DD1 ankle strap and SD1 toe strap use the same plant-based polymer, wrapping the boot securely while staying lightweight and easy to adjust. A re-ground rubber base pad adds damping and keeps the interface between boot, board, and binding cohesive—reducing chatter while maximizing control and connection.

Design That Connects

Across the K2000 collection, there’s a clarity and purpose—a functionality to the design language that makes everything feel like part of the same thought, even while spanning multiple disciplines. Materials were chosen for performance, consistency, and connectivity. Sean leaned on tones and finishes that feel tech-forward and utilitarian, with subtle matte treatments, molded detailing, and contrasting material transitions that add dimension without noise—he expands,

“It keeps me from getting too single-minded. I can look at the mountain in so many different ways because I have these two tools that operate in totally different realms.”

Purpose Over Progression

None of this is performative. Sean rides it all—the skis when he’s chasing steep, fast, top-to-bottom terrain, the snowboard when he’s in freestyle mode. There’s no crossover for crossover’s sake, and no need to make one do the other’s job. That clarity of purpose sets K2000 apart. Each piece is designed for its own job, its own feel, its own experience. But together, they make a statement: movement matters, mood matters, and the right gear changes the game. Never one to be put in a box, Sean shares his perspective on his identity within the environment:

“I’m not a snowboarder or a skier—I’m just a person, and those are two things I do. They’re parts of me, but they don’t define me. I love that balance of difference. I think K2000 is about sharing that broadened perspective.”

K2000 isn’t a gimmick—it’s a statement. It’s not a trend-chasing flex or a manufactured crossover moment. It exists to support something bigger: a shift in how we think about discipline, identity, and what it means to chase new ground. This is the beginning of something—not the end. Maybe it’s a new way to think about product. Maybe it’s a new kind of rider. Or maybe it’s just a reminder that when you put creativity at the core and strip away the marketing noise and trivial tribalisms, good things happen.
